Chelsy's Graduation

We celebrated Chelsy's graduation from high school and 9 years of piano lessons with a piano recital and open house. It was a time of reflection for her father and I. It is so hard to believe that only about 13 years ago we made the decision to home school! What an exciting and challenging adventure it has been. We began for all the wrong reasons, but along the way God showed us that He had His own reasons for homeschooling and they weren't the same ones we had!! So anyway, here is the promised post and a few pictures, too, about Chelsy's graduation party on June 22, 2008.

We are so grateful for the 2 wonderful piano teachers that God has blessed our family with over the past 9 years. Chelsy's first teacher was Tammi Miller, a sweet, kind, and encouraging teacher who not only taught Chelsy the basics of piano but also instilled in her a love for music.

Then 3 years ago she began taking lessons from Susan See, another incredibly talented and encouraging piano teacher. By using encouraging words and being a great example by giving their best, these 2 dear ladies have inspired Chelsy. THANKS, Tammi and Susan.
Our dear friend, Linda Hathaway, put together a lovely table with Chelsy's senior picture, framed prints of her photography, and other memorabilia.

Grandparents are a blessing! We enjoy having Marlin's mother live just 1 1/2 miles up the road.

After the recital and supper, around 40 energetic young people (ages 3-?) played "Dare Base" for hours and hours while the rest of us talked for hours and hours! Our family went to bed that evening with thankful hearts for the many friends God has brought into our lives.
